Since its creation in 2009, Bail Art Leasing has financed artworks for a total worth of €2.5 million, with several auction houses. Art leeasing is simple, fast and a profitable way to buy art, including at an auction.
Before the auction, the buyer tells the auction house that he or she will use a lease payment. Bail Art Leasing assists the buyer throughout the process: preparing the sale, filling the auction slip and filing for financing. Financing can be arranged before or after the sale (including auction fees). In both cases, the final invoice is sent to Bail Art, that acquires the work and arranges the leasing with the collector.
The company of leasing company must be backed by serious, recognized financial partners. In addition, calling on a team of art market professionals provides the benefit of real knowledge of the market and the works of art. Finally, a leasing company's reliability is measured by its financial and regulatory knowledge of the sector, its close and trusting relationship with art galleries, and its experience, both historical and geographical.
For companies and the self-employed, buying has the disadvantage of not being depreciable, whereas leasing offers the following financial and tax advantages.
- From a tax point of view, rental income is deductible from taxable income, thereby reducing the amount of tax payable (corporation tax or personal income tax).
- Renting allows you to spread the cost of the purchase while making significant tax savings.
- Art leasing has no impact on a company's borrowing capacity, nor does it affect financing operations.
- At the end of the lease, the artworks will be sold at a residual value.
